ZEITmagazin & VOGUE CONFERENCE

The Relevance of Fashion

The global fashion system is facing unprecedented upheavals. Old concepts are reaching their limits, new ideas are breaking free. What is the core of fashion? What will we always long for? International experts from the fashion and creative industries will be discussing this at the ZEITmagazine KONFERENZ Mode & Stil, which this year is being hosted for the seventh time in cooperation with VOGUE Deutschland and given a new name: ZEITmagazin & VOGUE KONFERENZ. It is dedicated – as before – to the overarching theme of “Fashion & Style” and takes place in the Kronprinzenpalais, the late classicist style icon in Berlin and one of the centers of Berlin Fashion Week.

Attendence is by personal invitation only. The event is aimed exclusively at decision-makers from companies and institutions in the following areas: fashion, art, culture, politics, science and associations with a thematic connection to the conference. A limited number of cards is available to consultants, agencies, bloggers and individuals.

The hashtag for the event is #zeitmagazinvogue.

Bringing a unique understanding of the creative and commercial sides of fashion, Imran Amed has emerged as one of the global fashion industry’s leading writers, thinkers and commentators, and is founder, CEO and editor-in-chief of The Business of Fashion (BoF).
BoF, which began from Imran’s sofa in 2007 as a passion project, sparked a new kind of fashion dialogue, exploring the key drivers of an industry undergoing unprecedented change. Social media and new technology were about to explode onto the fashion landscape, new markets in China, India and Brazil were rapidly rising in importance, and the financial crisis of 2008 created a step-change in consumer values and expectations. The fashion industry was emerging as a force in popular culture and there was much to analyse, dissect and explore.
In just five years Imran had grown The Business of Fashion into a credible industry authority. Each morning, tens of thousands of readers woke up to BoF’s addictive Daily Digest email newsletter, sparking conversations and discussion in conference rooms, studios and classrooms around the world.
Today, BoF has grown into the pre-eminent global industry resource for the fashion industry, with 1 million unique visitors per month, and more than 3 million followers on social media from over 200 countries around the world. The BoF team numbers more than 30 people overseeing multiple verticals including the BoF 500 (an annual list of the people shaping the global fashion industry), BoF Careers (the global marketplace for fashion talent), BoF China (a Chinese language edition) and BoF Education (fashion’s platform for online learning).
